About Me
Fernando Mazoco was born and raised in Porto Alegre, Brazil. A self-taught, first-generation artist in his lineage, he draws inspiration from a life shaped by curiosity, travel, and a willingness to challenge convention. His work explores energy, movement, and connection through bold color, layered pattern, and dynamic form. Based in Los Angeles, California, Fernando creates luminous figurative abstractions and light-infused paintings that feel both energetic and contemplative.
Artist Statement
The ability to express myself through art profoundly feeds my soul. I'm fascinated with using light not only as a medium, but also as a subject to create immersive visual environments through light-infused paintings. Light itself is a source of inspiration for me. It has always been present in my works as a central element. Light is my muse, it is so powerful it can travel to every corner of the cosmos interconnecting all there is. It is infinite. The extent of its comprehension transcends the human mind, keeps me intrigued and lures me into the expression of my being.
